Christian Crews
Principal
Christian Crews has fifteen years of experience leading teams and projects that apply foresight to innovation and strategy development. Prior to AndSpace, Christian held several foresight and strategy roles at Pitney Bowes Inc. Most recently as Director of Corporate Strategy, he was the project leader driving the development of a new corporate strategy for the company. As Director of Growth Strategies, he built a cross-business unit strategy team tasked with creating a more integrated approach to growth opportunities and corporate resource allocation. In the Director of Futures Strategy role he used scenario planning workshops to uncover customer pain points and future needs, resulting in hundreds of invention disclosures and 40 patent applications from around the company.
Christian also spent four years as Director of Futures Studies at the Waitt Institute, where he helped Gateway founder Ted Waitt spin up a global foundation committed to helping the disenfranchised have access to appropriate technologies. He managed projects with Harvard and MIT, and ran multi-stakeholder scenario planning initiatives for communities of all sizes, including the city of Boston and the central Oregon region. Prior to the Waitt Institute, Christian was the Long Range Planner at Toshiba International Corporation, where he led Corporate Marketing and helped craft and implement the strategic plan.
Christian holds a Master of Science in Studies of the Future from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from The College of William and Mary. He is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt. Christian was recently re-elected to serve a second term on the board of directors for the Association of Professional Futurists.
